Entered histotechnology profession in 1962 and worked in research histology at UW dental school, worked for a protein biochemist at UOregon for 2 years. Returned to clinical histopathology for 8 years in 1973, then to veterinary research from 1980 to 2007. I have been active in NSH since it was organized, served as VIR chair and on JOH Editorial Board, then Assistant Editor until present time, and serve as Interim Editor in Chief for JOH. I remain active with VIR and HTC committees for NSH. I formed my own consulting company, GCallis Histololgy Service LLC after retirement and maintain HTL/HT/MT(ASCP) registries.
