NSH is once again excited to offer a awards as a way to recognize individuals who show excellence or have shown dedication to the field or NSH. Be sure to nominate a colleague today!

 

 

Excellence in Management Award

This award will be given to an experienced or recently promoted manager, assistant manager, or supervisor who is expected to provide management leadership within their current role. The individual nominated should exemplify the qualities of a dedicated leader in communication,  interpersonal skills, demonstrate and encourage flexibility, adaptiveness, supportiveness, compassion, understanding, work-life balance, and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Must be a current NSH Member 
  • Must have 2 years experience in a management role
  • One letter of recommendation highlighting the how the  individual demonstrates excellence in their management role and lists specific example
  • CV/Resume
  • No self-nominations

Recipient receives a plaque and $1,000.


Excellence in Digital Pathology/Image Analysis

This award will be presented to an individual who shows dedication and excellence in digital pathology and/or imaging analysis. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who have supported or advanced the areas of digital pathology/imaging analysis through education, research, etc.

Requirements:

  • Must be a NSH Member for a minimum of 2 years
  • One letter of recommendation which highlights the individual's excellence in digital pathology/image analysis through education, research, etc
  • CV/Resume
  • Certification preferred

Recipient receives a plaque and $1,000.


Jules Elias Award for Excellence in IHC & Molecular Techniques

This award will be presented to an NSH member who is currently utilizing and excelling in immunohistochemistry or molecular in a clinical or research setting. The purpose of this award is acknowledge their work in the field and support the nominee or their institution in the study techniques and methods presently utilized in the nominee’s institution, or support the study of new IHC techniques under consideration for adoption in the nominee’s laboratory, or support continuing education.

Requirements:

  • Must be a NSH Member for a minimum of 2 years
  • One letter of recommendation which highlights the individual's commitment to IHC excellence through promotion and education
  • CV/Resume
  • QIHC Certification preferred
Recipient receives a plaque and $1,000.


Histotechnolgist of the Year

This award will be given annually to an individual who best exemplifies the qualities of dedication, service, and involvement with the profession of histotechnology and to NSH.

Requirements:

  • Must be a NSH Member for a minimum of 5 years
  • Two letters of recommendation which supports why the nominee is deserving of the award
  • CV/Resume

Recipient receives a plaque and $1,000.


Nomination Requirements

  • Please be sure to read the specific requirements for each award
  • Recipients of past awards/scholarships are not eligible for the same award/scholarship again. They are eligible for other awards/scholarships
  • Only complete application packages received by the closing date will be considered
