Many of us have heard of Barrett’s Esophagus but how much do we really know and understand about this disease? This lecture covers the definition and pathogenesis of Barrett’s Esophagus; the myriad histoarchitectural patterns seen in this disease; potential histologic pitfalls and how pathologists navigate these with special stains; and advanced staining techniques using biomarkers to predict progression for optimal patient therapy.
