Maintaining Certification

Maintaining Certification

Individuals certified through ASCP are required to participate in ASCP's Certification Maintenance Program, which requires completion of 36 hours of continuing education over the course of three years. That may seem overwhelming, but it works out to only 12 hours a year. NSH has plenty of ways for our members to earn those 12 hours of education a year without breaking the bank!

6 Hours: NSH members can earn 6 free hours of continuing education per year by completing the quizzes in NSH In Action and the Journal of Histotechnology. (Exclusive to Members)

+

2 Hours: NSH members have other opportunities to earn free hours, including a free webinar offered in November and a free hour offered for Histotechnology Professionals Day in March. (Exclusive to Members)

+

4 Hours: NSH offers webinars on learn.nsh.org, in person events such as the Symposium/Convention in September, and hands-on training sessions on topics like Mohs and IHC. You can take advantage of these as a member or non-member. (Members do receive registration discounts though, making earning those last few hours even more affordable!)
