The National Society for Histotechnology (NSH) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) have partnered to offer quality assessment tools similar to the original HistoQIP program for IHC.
HistoQIP—IHC improves the preparation of immunohistochemistry slides in all anatomic laboratories involved in the handling of a broad range of surgical specimens.

Similar to the original program, the NSH/CAP IHC Series will send laboratories two kits a year and asks them to prepare the following slides:
- IHC - Arginase, liver resection on hepatocellular carcinoma
- IHC - DOG1, GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumor)
- IHC - CD163, brain, any tissue
- IHC - MUM-1 (DLBCL-GC type)
- IHC - Tdt, tonsil resection
- IHC - SMMHC, DCIS, breast resection
- IHC - SOX10, skin excision
- IHC - p40 or p63, prostate resection
- IHC - CD30, Hodgkin lymphoma
For each set of slides submitted, participants will receive an evaluation specific to their laboratory and a participant summary. An expert panel of pathologists, histotechnologists, and histotechnicians will evaluate submitted slides for histologic technique using uniform grading criteria.
