Awards Committee

The Awards committee establishes the criteria for all Society awards and suggests new awards as the committee deems appropriate. Each year, the committee carefully reviews all awards and scholarship nominations using a committee-developed rubric.

General Anatomic Pathology Committee

The General Anatomic Pathology Committee is responsible for sharing and providing knowledge relating to general histotechnology topics and more specialized topics related to hard tissue and research.  Subcommittees may be formed by the committee chair or board of directors on an as-needed basis to work on specific projects.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is responsible for assisting the Board of Directors in its oversight responsibility relating to the integrity of the NSH accounting and financial reporting, including Form 990 tax filing and other financial statements. The Committee may perform other oversight functions as requested by the Board of Directors. The Committee's primary responsibility is to oversee the Annual Financial Audit, the Form 990, and an independent auditor's selection.

IHC & Molecular Committee

The Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Molecular Committee is responsible for sourcing niche topics directly related to processing IHC and Molecular techniques to develop resources for members, prospective members, and customers.

Bylaws Committee

The Bylaws Committee will sunset on January 1, 2023. The committee will merge with the Nominations-Election Committee to form the new Governance Committee. NSH members will elect the 2023 Chair at the 2022 House of Delegates meeting, and the three committee members will be elected during the 2022 elections.

Convention Program Committee

The Convention Program Committee oversees the Annual Convention in collaboration with the NSH Deputy Director. The NSH Annual Convention is our signature in-person meeting featuring Hands-On Training, Workshops, Networking Events, Exhibit Hall, General Sessions, and Governance meetings.

Educators/Instructors Committee

The Educators/Instructors Committee provides knowledge and information related to the education of histotechnology students, including histotechnology training/certification, resume writing, career advancement, and job search.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is chaired by the NSH Treasurer and works closely with both the Treasurer and Executive Director to ensure accurate financial reporting, oversee the annual budget preparation process, and in cooperation with the Audit Committee to ensure reporting and legal compliance. The committee meets quarterly to review finances, and a separate annual budget review meeting.

Imaging & Analysis Committee

The Imaging and Analysis Committee shares and provides information related to the acquisition, management, and interpretation of pathology information generated from a digitized glass slide. The committee updates and upgrades the Digital Pathology Certificate of Completion.

Laboratory Operations Committee

The Laboratory Operations Committee is responsible for sharing and providing knowledge relating to lab safety procedures and personal safety measures including ergonomics, and covering topics dealing with government regulations, quality assurance/control and improvement, leadership development, laboratory operations & personnel management.

Nominations Election Committee

The Bylaws Committee will sunset on January 1, 2023. The committee will merge with the Nominations-Election Committee to form the new Governance Committee. Public Relations Committee

The Public Relations Committee promotes the Society's goals through coordinating efforts to educate the public about the role of histotechnicians/histotechnologists in health care.  Additionally, the PR Committee promotes NSH's role within the profession.
