Buy One Give One Membership Drive 2020

During t
he first few weeks of December, the National Society for Histotechnology will provide one complimentary membership to a histotechnologist in Africa, for every Enhanced Education member who joins NSH. The goal of the program is to expand global access to much needed education, resources, and peer to peer connection. The recipients of these memberships have been selected in collaboration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology, whose Partners for Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment in Africa program has been instrumental in providing resources to combat the threat of non-communicable diseases on the continent.

An NSH member from Rwanda says, “The greatest challenges being a histotechnologist in Rwanda are lack of continuing education and histotechnology resources, limited access to adequate histotechnology tools/equipment, and limited number of staff histotechnologists to cover the workload”. This Buy One Give One program, aims to address that first problem, by providing much needed histology focused education.

Enhanced Education membership with NSH provides histologists access to a library of on-demand webinars, which can be used to develop skills in important laboratory areas such as safety, immunohistochemistry, digital imaging, and routine and special staining. NSH members are also able to collaborate with peers on NSH’s member community, the Block, where they share advice and troubleshooting tips. This access to new information, as well as opinions from around the world is critical to those technologists in countries without a local resource.

The donation program will run December 1st through December 18th. For more information, contact the National Society for Histotechnology at histo@nsh.org
