NSH Teleconference: Lower Gastrointestinal Tract Biopsies: Tissue Identification, Diseases and Stains (Special Stains and IHC)
Date:
28 Sep 2011 Presented by Mitual Amin, M.D., Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI
Lower GI tract biopsies (small intestine, appendix, large intestine, rectum) constitute a relatively significant proportion of the case-load in most pathology practices. The presentation will cover material to allow participants to identify basic histologic features in the normal tissue, and pathologic features in the more commonly encountered diseases. Role of special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) will be discussed.
